Swim-Run Wetsuit: Endurance sport in nature

In this sport, you go on a tour where running and swimming alternate several times. A natural environment with many open water areas is very suitable for this. Since there are no changing zones as in triathlon, you wear the same clothing throughout the course. You swim with shoes and run in cooler temperatures in the Neo. This places different demands on this suit than a triathlon or pure open water swimming.

Flexibility with good buoyancy

A wetsuit designed for this sport offers the right balance between good buoyancy and protection in the water as well as the flexibility necessary for running. The neoprene should not be too strong as a high weight makes running difficult. In addition, high mobility must be guaranteed. Most suits therefore have legs up to the knee. However, additional buoyancy aids for the lower legs such as neoprene calves or a pullbuoy are permitted. Swimming is more difficult because you wear shoes in the water. However, there are also some long suits with very flexible material on the knees, which are particularly suitable for particularly cool days.

The right fit for the swim run

A good fit is very important so that the suit fits well in the water but does not constrict or rub when running. Therefore there are special Neos for ladies in different sizes. Typical is also a long zipper on the front. If you pull it down a bit, the neck remains free when running. If necessary, you can open it even further or strip down the upper part of the suit. This allows you to cool off a bit on the running track on warmer days. The design is not unimportant either. Attractive inserts in bright colours improve your visibility in the field.
