X-Kross by Sziols, the specialists for sports glasses is now just called Siols

Protecting the eyes with glasses contributes to greater safety, well-being and higher performance in many sporting activities. They not only protect against UV rays and glare, but also, depending on the type of sport, against dust, insects, snow or splash water. Sports eyewear has to meet very special requirements in terms of fit and wearing comfort. With its flexible X-Kross eyewear system from Siols (previously Sziols), Optic Fashion GmbH from Munich has established itself as an expert in sports optics. With this sports eyewear system, a frame can be used with different functional lenses, each of which is optimised for a specific type of sport. The experience of many athletes, doctors, opticians and technicians went into the development of the system.

A system based on the modular principle

The system consists of a frame that you can use with interchangeable lenses. You can use lenses with different tints, but also functional lenses for different sports. A pair of running goggles can quickly be transformed into a pair of ski goggles. The lenses are all made of shatterproof polycarbonate and offer the highest possible UV protection. They are constructed in such a way that they do not tarnish during sports, so you always have a clear view. Even if you need to wear corrective glasses in everyday life, you can use the Siols (previously Sziols) frames and lenses. For this purpose, there is a matching optical inner clip that your optician still has to adjust to your prescription. You can also buy a set of spare parts, such as the nose pads or the nose bridge, so that you can replace worn accessories if necessary.

Highly functional lenses for different needs

Goggle lenses for different sports differ in their construction, but also in the available variants and tints. For example, ski goggles have thermal double lenses. In terms of size and shape, there is an alpine and a cross-country variant. The so-called lifestyle lenses are characterised by polarising lenses that block glare very well. They are suitable for sailing or surfing, for example, but also for driving. Other lenses are optimised for running or cycling. But leisure glasses are also part of the system. As far as tints are concerned, there are various colours and brightnesses to choose from, with each variant being suitable for very specific light conditions. Many lenses are also available in a mirrored version and all lenses are divided into Small or Max.
